Modules two through six are the “meat” of the layout.
Module 3 introduces a port, creating a scene for the Club’s shipbuilding modellers. Module 4 has a tricky crossover for interlocking, and possibly signalling, operations. Module 5 shows that our thinking about some features is still in-progress and module 6 closes off the run-around/double-ended track that is present on Module 7.
The track work is also designed so that Modules 2, 3 and 4 can be omitted. The Club can travel to shows with Modules 1, 5, 6, 7 and still have a complete running setup.
There you have it: 7 modules, 28′ in total length and 34″ wide, creating 3 “mostly” independent tracks for running trains. Let the construction begin!
